McCullum and Morgan consented for PSL 2:
Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum and England limited over skipper Eoin Morgan have provided their consent to be part of next Pakistan Super League draft that will be held in September 2016. PSL edition 2 is schedule to start in Feb, 2017. For next year PSL, management has placed an age restriction which means that emerging players would be less than 23 years of age. and they have to hire one player from their regional team. Najam Sethi announced that PCB and all 5 franchises has made an agreement to increase player salary cap from 1.2 million per team per year by 9% for next edition of PSL. This move will result in more high profile international players signing in next few days.

In most recent meeting, PCB and franchises agreed on player retention policy where a team can retain 16 players for the next edition. Management can re-negotiate with players or could be released or retained. Inclusion of highly skilled and experienced international players will bring more knowledge to the team and youngsters. And with new changes more youngsters will get opportunity to learn from national and international heroes.
Lahore Qalandars would have the first pick of the draft followed by Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiator and Islamabad United. Order of the pick is based on last season team ranking in PSL, Lahore was at the bottom of list while Islamabad United are champions.
