South Africa batted first and raised 267-8 in 50 overs. Australia in reply looked quite in trouble as they had lost 5 wickets for 98 runs in 25th over. Smith and Wade turned the game by making 6th wicket partnership of 121. Australia reached the target in 49th over to win the 4th odi by 3 wickets.
Smith received the player of the match award.
