Spectators watched an extraordinary run chase on a last day of first test as Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by seven wickets at Galle. Rangana Herath clutched 6 for 48 as Pakistan was bowled out for 180 in their second innings. Sri Lanka needed 99 runs in a min. of 126 balls as dark clouds were floating over the stadium.
Captain Angelo Mathews didn't take the game light and continuously he scored boundaries to complete the chase in just 16.2 overs. After few seconds when the game was over drizzle started.
It was the 4th loss by Pakistan team in a Test match after scoring 450 runs in the first innings. A really humiliating day for Pakistan Cricket.
Rangana Herath took 6 for 48 against Pakistan.
Mathews said,
"It was one of the best games I have played and Herath was unbelievable," He added. "What an unbelievable player Mahela is, hopefully we can win the next game as well."
