Glenn Maxwell leads KXIP on top of IPL Points Table.
Glenn Maxwell for the fourth time in IPL 2014 missed century by 10 runs. Maxwell big contributions so far in this season of IPL are 95, 89, 95 & in last match against Chennai Super Kings he scored 90 off just 38 balls with 237 strike rate. Statistics show that in all matches of IPL where Maxwell made individual high scores, the team Kings XI Punjab wins. Glenn Maxwell leads Kings XI Punjab on top of IPL Points Table. KXIP won 6 out of 7 matches played in IPL 7 with +1.214 net run rate that makes them on top of IPL Points Table. CSK dropped to 2nd spot in Points Table. Maxwell & Miller provided big contributions against Chennai Super Kings that lifts team to the highest score of 231 in this season of IPL. Virender Sehwag also showed good signs with bat by contributing 30 runs against CSK. KXIP scored only 38 when both of their openers Singh & Sehwag departs. Maxwell and Miller stayed on crease for long & entertained his team mates & crowds by hitting high shots. Miller made 47 off 32 balls & was clean bowled by Smith. After Miller departs KXIP lost 3 wickets for 173 & George Bailey the captain came in. Maxwell also lost his wicket in 18th over and contributed 90 off just 38 balls. George Bailey made quick 40 off just 13 balls to lift Kings XI Punjab to 231 in 20 overs. Chennai Super Kings started their chase with pressure & lost Smith in 1st over. After opener Smith gone McCulum & Raina made 50 plus partnership but soon Raina gone for 35. Jadeja departs for quick 17 & McCullum also gone for 33 in 12th over. Faf du Plesis lifts CSK to 187 in their respective 20 overs. Faf du Plesis is the highest scorer for CSK for his 52 off just 25 balls. Chennai Super Kings didn't look in chase even from the 1st ball as they had in mind a high target of 232. Hence Kings XI Punjab beat Chennai Super Kings by 44 runs. Glenn Maxwell is the man of the match for his 90 runs in only 38 balls.
Glen Maxwell is key player for KXIP, he has played magnificent knocks so far. went close to triple figures but couldn't do conversion. it clearly means that he is playing for his team and not for himself. Mumbai Indians would be gutted not retaining him in ipl7.
