First world cup winning captain of Sri Lanka Arjuna Ranatunga appreciated team win in ICC World Twenty20 final and bringing champions title home. He lauded T20 win as "special team efforts" and every one played an important role in it. Lasith Malinga took captaincy role and did what he should have done, Sangakara and Mahela Jayawardene provided their support in decision making and also played important knock while batting. Most of the youngster stepped up and proved worthy to be in the team.
Sri Lanka win was mainly because of special team efforts
Ranatunga said, "Even though he was not in good form, Sri Lanka has done well, and
protected their No. 1 ranking, while he was captain," Ranatunga said.
"No one has the right to leave out a captain, and if Chandimal was able
to sacrifice his place to protect a winning combination, I think he
deserves a lot of praise in this win. It's a great example to other
cricketers."
He also said about Kumar Sangakara and Mahela Jayawardene, "The cricketers are the ones who know better than anyone, when the right time is to go. In the past we've seen that T20 is a young man's game. I'm sure they've made the correct decision."
Well deserved victory by Sri Lanka. SL batting, bowling, fielding, captaincy everything was simply awesome against india in world t20 final. They looked dominating even from the first ball as they restricted indian batsmen to only 130 though india have 6 wickets in hand. I must say very well done and congrates to team Sri Lanka.
