Dhoni defends Yuvraj Singh after T20 Final

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in post match press conference kept defending Yuvraj Singh even though it didn't sound convincing. Yuvi played a horrible innings of 11 runs from 21 balls in final match of T20 world cup. In reply to a question, Dhoni said, "It was an off day for Yuvraj. He tried his best but it's not easy to come in and start slogging from ball one". No message was sent to Yuvi when he was in the middle and he was trying his best and thats all you can do. Future matches are far far away so decision about Yuvi's inclusion in team should not be made an issue right now.

To a question about angry fans reaction to Yuvi's batting later on sunday evening, Dhoni said, "As a player, you don't want to do badly in front of 40,000 people. You don't want to drop catches, but off-days happen. And it can happen with any athlete. May be it was an off-day for him". Fans can be angry but they can not be more disappointed than players on the field.

Yograj Singh (father of Yuvraj Singh) said, "When we lose there is criticism from all sides. Ups and downs are part of life and part of this game as well".

  1. Yuvi is a legend. He played outstanding knocks for India in T20 remember 6 Sixes in 1 over against Stuart Broad. After having cancer operation he got fat and lost his form and didn't produce any high scores like he used to. Now he is struggling with bat so we should support him. Once Indians were making his statues now throwing stones at him this isn't justice.
