World Twenty20 champions Sri Lanka returned home and were welcomed by happy crowd of fans in Colombo. Thousands of fans flocked the streets and went to airport just to see their 15 heroes. Around 50,000 happy fans went to see Sri Lankan team, and 1500 went to airport arrival gate to be the first to have a glimpse at players. Heroes can be seen on top of Colombo City Site seeing ride and waving to fans. There was fireworks, sound of drums, music and every type of entertainment that one can think of. It was a big Sri Lankan party or biggest to be precise, a biggest moment of joy for everyone after end of war.

Last time Sri Lanka won any ICC championship was in 1996 World Cup which is almost 18 years ago.
