Caribbean Premier League will pick players in the first round on Thursday. Players picked in first round will receive contract worth $80,000 with payments decreasing by $5000 till 13th round. CPL Twenty20 will feature the same six teams from last year and tournament will kick off in July and will be played till August. Kevin Pietersen from England, Shahid Afridi from Pakistan, Mahela Jayawardene from Sri Lanka and Daniel Vettori from New Zealand are the big names appearing in auction on Thursday. Last year CPL was won by Jamaica Tallawahs, Chris Gayle.
At least Pakistani players will have a chance to get more experience in Twenty20 format at international level. IPL have been refusing to let Pak players play in their competitive tournament.
