England Vs New Zealand T20 Preview

England Vs New Zealand T20 Preview

England and New Zealand have quite opposite recent series results. New Zealand defeated India in home series while England lost badly to Australia in Ashes. Not much recovery has been made by English players recently against West Indies. New Zealand usually progress to knock out stages of ICC main events however, England rarely stay that long. One common thing between these two teams is they do not have any unorthodox spin, both teams will rely on fast pace, medium pace swing and finger spin.

Kiwi batsmen are well in form and fastest century in ODI by Corey Anderson is a fast scoring machine for New Zealand side. Brendon Mc Cullum is only 41 runs short of reaching 2000 in ICC Twenty20.

English players are suffering from injuries, Captain Stuart Broad just overcome his knee injury, Eion Morgon is short of form and got knee injury as well. England doesn't have master blaster Kevin Pietersen in their team any more.

Possible New Zealand Squad:
1. Martin Guptill, 2. Kane Williamson, 3. Brendon McCullum (capt), 4. Ross Taylor, 5. Corey Anderson, 6. Luke Ronchi (wk), 7. Anton Devcich, 8. Nathan McCullum, 9. Tim Southee, 10. Kyle Mills, 11. Mitchell McClenaghan

Possible England Squad:
1. Michael Lumb, 2. Alex Hales, 3. Moeen Ali, 4. Eoin Morgan, 5. Jos Buttler (wk), 6. Ravi Bopara, 7. Tim Bresnan, 8. Chris Jordan, 9. Stuart Broad (capt), 10. James Tredwell, 11. Jade Dernbach

Stuart Broad and Brendon McCullum on the Field

England have only won 4 out of last 13 T20 internationals. England has played 10 Twenty20 matches against New Zealand, won 7 matches and lost only 3 matches; thats a really good record against Kiwis.

  1. New Zealand batsman can be seen practising in nets next to ground while match between Sri Lanka and South Africa is in progress. They just experienced a couple of big sixes hit by Albie Morkel off Ajantha Mendis.
